Maple Apple Blondies
Today's Recipe Is Apple Walnut Maple Bars!!!! Indulging in vegan junk food is not something I do every night, but the weather is changing, leaves are falling and that calls for a treat. These decadent bars are full of flavor and texture, and will definitely bring you into the fall vibes you've been craving all summer. They are super easy to make and 100% vegan. Below I have the super easy instructions on how to bake these amazing treats, as long as the ingredients with pictures. Let's get to baking!
Servings: 10 large bars, 20 small bars
Prep time: 25 mins
Bake time: 25 mins
2 cups of white flour
1 1/3 cups of packed dark brown sugar
2 egg replacer eggs *can use ground flax seed or banana if you don't have egg replacer
1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
3/4 teaspoon of salt
1-2 apples (1 if you want less apple pieces, 2 if you prefer more apple pieces)
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
1/2 cup of melted and cooled vegan butter
1/2 cup of maple syrup
Step 1. Mix together packed brown sugar, butter, vanilla, maple syrup and vegan egg replacement.
Step 2. Mix dry ingredients. Lightly stir together flour l, baking soda and salt.
Step 3. Mix dry and wet ingredients together until a liquid dough forms.
Step 4. Add in chopped apples and walnuts
Step 4. Pour mixture into a small to mid sized baking pan.
Step 5. Bake for 25-30 minutes top is golden brown and center is firm and chewy.
Step 6. While bars are baking, make a quick sweet maple glaze using:
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup of butter
-1/2 cup of maple syrup
Mix all three ingredients in sauce pan over medium heat, stir until mixture is thick. Let mixture cool.
*Glaze is optional
Step. 7 Once bars are finished baking, Allow them to cool for 7-10 minutes.
Cut into small-medium sized squares or rectangles and pour warm glaze over top.
